Our standard
BharatChat prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind. BharatChat is only for people aged 18 and over.
What’s prohibited
- Creating, sharing, requesting or storing sexual images, video or text involving anyone under 18, including drawn, edited or AI-generated material.
- Grooming: building a relationship with a child to sexually abuse or exploit them.
- Sextortion: threatening a child, or anyone, with sexual images.
- Trafficking or advertising children for sex.
- Any content that sexualises children.
How to report
If a child is in immediate danger, call 112. For a child who needs help, call Childline on 1098.
To report something on BharatChat, email support@bharatchat.co with:
- the @username of the account, or the group name;
- roughly when it happened;
- a short description of what you saw.
Don’t forward, screenshot or download abuse material, even to report it. Describe it and we’ll find it.
You can also report to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in or on the cyber crime helpline, 1930.
What we do
- We review child-safety reports first, ahead of everything else.
- We remove the content and ban the accounts involved.
- We preserve the evidence and report it to the police and the relevant authorities, as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 requires, and to other child-protection organisations where the law allows.
- We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
